How to write a Japan address
Japanese addresses use block numbering (chōme-ban-gō) rather than street names, written as hyphenated numbers. The 7-digit postal code (NNN-NNNN) can go before the prefecture. Ward names take the -ku suffix.
Tips for shipping forms
When a form splits the address into fields, map the example above from the bottom up: the last line is the country, the line above carries the postal code and city, and everything else fills the street address lines in order. Keep diacritics if the form accepts them; plain ASCII is also universally deliverable.
